8–10× more light, exactly when the camera fires
In overdrive mode the LVD-482-ODT drives the light far above its continuous rating for a single triggered pulse. The pulse is cut off at 1 ms to protect the LEDs, so you get a much brighter flash for short exposures and fast-moving parts.
